In this series, I explore how the pandemic, mass lockdowns, and the sudden ban on work affected businesses and professions across Slovakia. My subjects are business owners, actors, performers, managers, bartenders, and others who closed their workplaces until further notice.
I meet and photograph them at the moment before they take any steps. Force-majeure circumstances erased life plans and familiar routines within a few days. Places where life once thrived are now quiet. The diary is empty. The sense of uncertainty is overwhelming. A decision is expected, yet the possibility to act is temporarily blocked.
